These elongated freshwater pearls are known as Biwa Pearls, because they were used to be extracted from a lake names Biwa in Japan. Biwa pearls are know for their uneven shape, long length and high lustre.

This piece is made with uneven Biwa pearls where one pearl is connected with a stainless silver stud hook.
